Course Description

Every game is based on MIKKO learning resources and the proven MIKKO methodology. The familiar MIKKO pictures come to life on the screen: the child taps, drags and chooses, and sees straight away whether the answer is right. There are no penalties for mistakes, the order changes every time, and each game has levels, from easy to more challenging. The specialist sits next to the child, reads the task aloud, gives prompts and decides when to move on to the next level.

Learning with MIKKO follows three steps:

  • Introduce. The specialist introduces a new skill at the table, using MIKKO learning resources.

  • Practise. The child practises and reinforces the skill in the interactive games.

  • Apply. The skill moves into everyday life, so the child can use it anywhere, not just on the screen.

  • New games and topics will be added over time.

First Topic: Maths

Four games with numbers up to ten, three levels in each:

  • Find the Number (Number Recognition): the child hears a number from the specialist and finds it among digits, dots and pictures.

  • How Many? (Matching Numbers and Quantities): the child counts objects and drags the right number to the picture.

  • More or Less (Comparing Values): the child compares pictures and numbers using digital sorting boards.

  • How Much Is It? (Simple Equations): the child solves simple addition and subtraction problems within ten.

Who This Course Is For

  • Early Years Educators:

    To run engaging practice sessions in class or remotely and see the score at the end of every level.

  • Special Education Teachers:

    To offer visually supported tasks with instant feedback and step-by-step prompts that suit diverse learning needs.

  • Other Specialists Working with Children with SEN:

    To reinforce skills with ready-made games that need no special preparation.

Problems We Help You Solve

  • Lack of Engagement: you need a playful, visually appealing way to keep young children focused while they practise.

  • Practice That Sticks: a skill introduced at the table needs many repetitions to become solid. The games give the child plenty of practice with instant feedback, and you decide when to return to MIKKO learning resources and when to move the skill into everyday tasks.

  • Guessing vs Knowing: you want to know whether the child really understands the task or simply remembers where the answer was. The changing order and varied representations help check real understanding.

Results After Completion

For children:

  • New skills become solid through regular, playful practice.

  • Children grow more confident and independent.

  • Children get used to simple drag-and-drop and multiple-choice tasks on a laptop or tablet.

In the first topic, maths, children:

  • recognise numbers from 1 to 10 as digits, dots and pictures;

  • count objects and match them with numbers;

  • compare quantities: more or less;

  • solve simple addition and subtraction problems within 10.

For specialists:

  • ready-made games with a clear path from level to level;

  • the score at the end of each level shows what the child has mastered and what needs more practice.
