Course description

Discover a comprehensive, practical framework for learning physics designed to spark curiosity and build real scientific understanding. Through five structured modules, students will use the ULABS kit to explore fundamental concepts—from Newton’s laws to Archimedes’ principle—transforming abstract theories into tangible experiences.

  • Force and Motion (Experiment 2): Explore how force changes motion, how mass affects acceleration, and how to change an object's direction using a cart and ramp.

  • The Lever (Experiment 5): Discover "super strength" by learning how levers work and how increasing the distance from a pivot reduces the effort needed to lift heavy loads.

  • The Inclined Plane (Experiment 8): Understand the trade-off between distance and force, demonstrating why ramps make lifting heavy objects easier but require a longer path.

  • The Catapult (Experiment 9): Dive into energy storage and projectile motion by building a catapult to investigate how tension (elastic potential energy) affects launch distance.

  • Buoyancy (Experiment 11): Uncover Archimedes' principle and the "invisible push" of water, learning why heavy ships float and measuring weight differences in air versus water.

Who this course is for

  • Young Engineers

Young Engineers & Students curious about how the physical world works and eager to build and test their own mechanisms.

  • Educators

Educators looking for structured, evidence-based STEAM interventions and practical experiments for the classroom.

  • Parents

Parents who want to provide engaging, hands-on scientific learning opportunities for their children at home.

Problems we help you solve

  • Understanding Movement: It can be hard to grasp why things move or stop. We answer the big question: "What causes an object to begin moving, increase its speed, or change direction?".

  • Lifting Heavy Loads: We solve the challenge of lifting heavy weights with minimal effort by applying the "Law of the Lever" and mechanical advantage.

  • Abstract Concepts: Physics often feels abstract. We turn concepts like "Energy Storage" and "Buoyant Force" into visible, measurable actions using catapults and water experiments.

Results after completion

After completing this course, students will possess a solid foundation in mechanics and hydrostatics, capable of conducting scientific investigations and analyzing data.

  • Master Force & Motion: You will be able to demonstrate that Force is the agent that changes motion and explain Newton's First Law.

  • Utilize Simple Machines: You will understand how to trade distance for force using levers and inclined planes to make work easier.

  • Understand Energy: You will learn how potential energy is stored in elastic materials and converted into kinetic energy (motion).

  • Analyze Buoyancy: You will be able to calculate buoyant force by comparing an object's weight in air versus water.

  • Apply Scientific Methods: You will gain skills in observation, measurement (using dynamometers and stopwatches), and data analysis.
